VICINITY project with paper presentation at NEON 2018 Organised by University College Innlandet

Tuesday, November 20, 2018 (All day) to Thursday, November 22, 2018 (All day)
Lillehammer, Norway

The interest in innovation has spread sharply over the past 10-15 years. The concept of innovation has proved flexible and usable in an increasing number of areas. Where many previously connected innovations with technological innovations that succeeded in markets, it is today as natural to talk about service innovation, social innovation, business model innovation and innovation in the public sector. Innovation will no longer only generate economic growth, it is also innovation that will solve major national and global challenges. The focus on innovation is well institutionalized, not least through the EU's research and innovation policy.

In this year's conference we will invite to reflection and dialogue about the relationship between innovation and organizational research. What can innovation research add to the organizational discipline? And what is the contribution of organizational research to the innovation field? What implications has increased focus on innovation in research policy and for studies of organizations? What inhibits and promotes innovation? How can we understand the role of different actors in innovation processes? What role does structure and culture play - and what does management mean? How can we understand the implementation and dissemination of innovations in and between organizations? What are the effects and consequences? Is innovation always good and to whom? How do we achieve innovation that is democratic, ethical and sustainable?

Based on suggestions for tracks from Norway's foremost researchers, we now have 23 tracks from most research environments - see page for tracks in the menu on the left.
